Personal Branding Session: Alyssa, Makeup Artist
Alyssa is a fabulous hair and makeup artist and owner of AB Onsite Beauty, which provides on-location hair and makeup for weddings and events. Alyssa wanted to update her website, but quickly realized she had a problem. She had a lot of photos of her clients and the gorgeous hair and makeup she did for them, but didn’t have any photos of herself to show her customers! In fact, one of the only photos she had available as a headshot was a bridal portrait of her taken on her own wedding day.
Alyssa wanted fun, modern branding photos to use on her website and on social media. With weddings starting up again after the 2020 shutdown, she wanted to start posting online more regularly to attract her ideal clients with updated images on her website.
Alyssa has an energetic personality and truly connects with her brides and wedding parties. So she wanted personal branding photos that looked professional, approachable, fresh, and fun. She also wanted a clean, classic photo style that would complement her brand colors of white, black, gold and blush pink.
For her session, we did a mix of poses and setups, including some that featured her makeup chair and brushes. She also loves wearing hats (and looks amazing in them!) and has a gorgeous arm tattoo we incorporated into her shoot.
Because Alyssa needed new imagery to use as website banners, website headers and for social media banners, we intentionally planned white space into some of her images. This way, she can add text in that blank space to create thoughtful, intentional banners on her website and social media pages.
Along with the more friendly, approachable photos we did earlier in the shoot, Alyssa also wanted a series of photos that showcased her sassy personality! We mixed the punchy pink background (which matched her brand colors) with her outfit of a classic black blazer and fabulous faux leather leggings to create energetic photos she loved! By prompting her to make a variety of facial expressions, we captured portraits that featured her bold, fun, and outgoing personality!
It was a great day in the studio! We jammed out to 90s tunes, laughed a lot, and created stunning personal brand images!
